asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can make a statement as to the position in Vladivostok; and whether His Majesty's Government has advised the Japanese Government against any attempt to overthrow by force the rule of the Russian Soviet Government in Eastern Siberia or any part of it?

The answer to the first part of the question, according to the information which has reached us, is that as a result of disturbances which occurred at Vladivostok between 2nd and 4th April, certain positions in Vladivostok were occupied by Japanese troops on the evening of 4th April. The Zemstvo Government has been maintained in power. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative,
