HC Deb 30 October 1919 vol 120 c859
17. Mr. LYNN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether, in view of the extreme hardship on local ratepayers in maintaining the lunatic poor, the unfair incidence of taxation, and the unsatisfactory condition of the Local Taxation (Ireland) Account, he will consider the advisability of increasing the rate-in-aid to 50 per cent. of the actual cost of maintaining the lunatic poor?

The CHIEF SECRETARY for IRELAND (Mr. Macpherson)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to his similar question on this subject on the 22nd May last, and to which there is nothing to add at present.
