HC Deb 17 November 1919 vol 121 cc602-3
48. Lieut-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Prime Minister whether His Majesty's Government have any knowledge of an attempt by the Polish Government to summon a conference of all the contending factions and nationalities now fighting on territory belonging to the former Russian Empire, to be held at Warsaw, with a view to establishing peace; whether, if such a conference is held, His Majesty's Government will be represented; and whether, in view of the distress in Central and Eastern Europe, every encouragement will be given to the Polish Government in this work of humanity?

Mr. BONAR LAW (Leader of the House)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative; the rest of the question does not, therefore, arise.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

If such a conference is held, will this Government be represented at it?

Mr. BONAR LAW

It will be time enough to consider that if the proposal materialises.
