HC Deb 17 November 1919 vol 121 cc601-2
88. Mr. HURD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the British Mission to arrange with the Soviet authorities for the exchange of prisoners has left for Denmark; if not, when does it leave; and who are the Commissioners?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

The hon. Member for East Leeds (Mr. O'Grady) left London on Saturday for Copenhagen to meet the representatives of the Soviet Government for this purpose. He is accompanied by Mr. Nathan as assistant, Mr. Gall as secretary, and a typist.

Mr. BILLING

Having regard to the great public interest in this matter, can the hon. Gentleman say whether a verbatim report will be kept and be available to Members of the House?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I hope that a report will be issued to the House, but whether a verbatim report or not, I cannot say.

Mr. BILLING

Will the hon. Gentleman consider the desirability of it, having regard to the various attacks on the Government for having leanings towards the Bolshevists?

Mr. HARMSWORTH

I do not know about that.
