HC Deb 06 November 1919 vol 120 cc1675-6
68. Major HILLS

asked the Attorney-General whether any women are employed in positions of importance in the Public Trustee's office?

Sir G. HEWART

I am informed that the total number of women employed in the Public Trustee's office is 848. The highest salary received by any of them is on the scale of £280 a year rising by increments of £15 to £400 a year. I do not know the definition of the term "positions of importance," but it seems probable that there is no position in the Public, Trustee's office which is not of importance.
