§ 91. Mr. HANNAasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether any differences exist in the rates of pay of civilian subordinates employed by the War Office in Carrickfergus and other places in Ireland and the rates of pay of those similarly employed in England; if so, what is the extent of the differences; and whether it is intended to take steps to remove this injustice to the Irish employâs?
§ Mr. FORSTERRates of wages of civilian employâs under the War Department are governed by the Fair Wages Resolution of the House of Commons and consequently vary with the locality. Neither in Ireland nor elsewhere does this rule involve any injustice.
