HC Deb 22 May 1919 vol 116 c552
39. Lieut.-Colonel ARCHER-SHEE

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he can request the Railway Executive Committee to see that the Underground Electric Railway Companies of London, Limited, increase the number of coaches on their trains during the so-called slack, the three-coach trains usually running at those hours being totally inadequate for the amount of passengers?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

The Railway Executive Committee do not control the tube railways, but I am bringing my hon. and gallant Friend's question to the notice of the London Electric Railway Company, and will inform him of the result.

Mr. J. JONES

Can he arrange for the derelict motors that are now in various depots being used to help the congestion of the traffic?

Mr. SPEAKER

They can hardly run on the Underground Electric Railway.
