HC Deb 20 May 1919 vol 116 c190
38. Mr. BOTTOMLEY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that Private Nicholl, a musketry instructor, the Army of the Rhine, was accidentally shot dead whilst instructing a class, and that his body was buried, rolled in a blanket, without any coffin, being borne to the grave on a stretcher before the eyes of many German civilians; and whether he will take steps to prevent a repetition of such treatment of British soldiers?

Captain GUEST
