HC Deb 20 May 1919 vol 116 c203
72. Mr. W. R. SMITH

asked the Home Secretary whether it is upon his instructions that police officers are attending branch meetings of the Winterslow, Salisbury, branch of the Agricultural Labourers' Union; if so, can he give the reason for such action, and, if not, will he make inquiries as to why this is being done?

Sir H. GREENWOOD

I have made inquiry, and I am informed by the Chief Constable that the meetings in question have never been attended by police officers.
