HC Deb 06 May 1919 vol 115 c740
46. Colonel ASHLEY

asked the Prime Minister if he will arrange that ex-members of the naval, military and air forces shall have preference for appointments in the new Ministry of Supply over those who have not served?

Mr. KELLAWAY

I have been asked to answer this question. In selecting the staff for appointments which may have to be filled in any permanent organisation that Parliament may decide to set up, special consideration will, to the fullest extent possible, be given to the claims of ex-members of the naval, military, and air forces.

Sir C. KINLOCH-COOKE

Will the hon. Gentleman see that preference is given to the men who went abroad over men who have stayed behind?

Mr. KELLAWAY

I think my hon. Friend will find that my answer covers that.
