REESasked the Food Controller whether he is aware of the shortage in the supply of margarine due to the export of large quantities to the Continent for sale; and, if so, what steps he proposes to take in order to preserve, as far as possible, home-manufactured margarine for the home trade?
Mr. ROBERTSI cannot accept the view that the issuing of licences for export has resulted in any appreciable shortage in the supply of margarine. I may add that no licences for the export of margarine have been issued since 31st March.
