REESasked whether any proposal has been made by the Government of India to guarantee by Statutory Order of the Secretary of State in Council the pay, pensions, leave, and conditions of service of the Indian Civil Service and of such other Indian services as are recruited in the United Kingdom?
§ Mr. FISHERThe Secretary of State understands that the Government of India wish that in any Amendment of the Government of India Act the exclusive power of the Secretary of State in Council to determine the conditions of service of officers recruited in the United Kingdom shall be placed beyond doubt. Their specific proposals to that end are awaited.
