HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 c1270
33. Major HENNESSY

asked whether the relations of men who have been killed in the War will be allowed to put up a cross, at their own expense, on the graves of their dear dead?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I am afraid I cannot at present add anything to the answers given to previous questions of this nature. The matter will be carefully considered by the Imperial War Graves Commission in the light of such expression of public sentiment as has been, brought to their attention. I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the written reply given on Monday to the hon. Member for Wimbledon, and to the previous answers therein mentioned.
