HC Deb 12 March 1919 vol 113 c1261
15. Mr. H. SMITH

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many vessels of the Mercantile Marine are in the service of the Admiralty as hospital ships in home waters and how many in foreign waters, and how such numbers, compare with those in such service at the signing of the Armistice?

Dr. MACNAMARA

At present there is one large vessel and two small ones at home and a small one in the Mediterranean. At the signing of the Armistice there were four large and five small vessels in the service of the Admiralty as hospital ships, and in addition two privately owned yachts.
