HC Deb 06 March 1919 vol 113 c602
42. Mr. R. M'LAREN

asked the Home-Secretary if Sir R. Redmayne is no longer acting as chief inspector of mines; and if he will state if he receives his salary from the Home Office besides a salary from the Coal Controller's Office?

Mr. SHORTT

Sir Richard Redmayne is not at present acting as Chief Inspector. He has been temporarily lent to the Coal Controller to act as the Controller's Chief Technical Adviser. He continues, as is usual in such cases, to receive the salary of his permanent appointment, and he is paid, I understand, an additional allowance of £300 by the Coal Controller's Department.
