HC Deb 03 March 1919 vol 113 c31
82. Major COHEN

asked the Pensions Minister whether he is aware that, under the present Royal Warrant soldiers permanently and totally disabled in previous wars are not eligible for an attendant allowance; and whether he proposes to remedy this?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of PENSIONS (Sir James Craig)

The position of soldiers totally disabled in former wars was greatly improved by the Warrant of April last, which increased the pensions of such men to the maximum rates, plus bonus, for the present war. I regret that it is not possible to consider the question of extending further benefits to these men.
