asked the President of the Board of Trade (1) whether he will state the number of special race trains that were run by the South Western Rail way Company to Ascot during the recent race week; whether all or any of these trains were saloon or first-class only; if all or any of them were run at the ordinary fares or if they were run at a special fare; if the latter, at what increase was the special fare over the ordinary rates; (2) whether he will state the number of special race trains that were run by the respective railway companies to Epsom during the Derby week; whether all or any of these trains were first class only; if all or any of them were run at the ordinary fares or if they were run at a special fare; and, if the latter, at what increase was the special fare over the ordinary rates?
