HC Deb 30 June 1919 vol 117 cc616-7
88. Sir A. FELL

asked the President of the Local Government Board if his attention has been called to the large number of houses on the East Coast resorts which are uninhabited owing to the fact that the damages payable by the military authorities for the user of such premises by the soldiers are not settled and the owners cannot repair such houses until this is done; and, since such delay is seriously affecting the housing question, what steps he proposes to take to get these houses repaired for occupation?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. I can only refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to his previous questions on this subject, and assure him that the War Office is doing all it can to expedite the settlement of the dilapidation claims referred to.
