HC Deb 30 June 1919 vol 117 cc591-2
24. Mr. LAMBERT

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will state what steps the Government has taken or proposes to take to control the prices now being demanded for clothes and boots?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

My right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to make any statement on this subject.

Mr. LAMBERT

When can we expect the statement. One was promised three weeks ago?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I do not think any definite day was named.

Captain WEDGWOOD BENN

Are there any restrictions on the imports of clothes and boots?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

I must ask for notice of that.
