HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 c1912
19. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked the Secretary of State for War whether the Russian Labour Corps is still working under the orders of the War Office; where it now is; how many men have been demobilised from it; and what is the future of this corps, which has performed such good service for the Allies?

Captain GUEST

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Russian Labour Battalion is employed in this country, and labour companies are working in France and Flanders. Soldiers of Russian nationality will be discharged as soon as practicable after the ratification of Peace.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

Have any of the men been demobilized?

Captain GUEST

It is proposed to demobilise the whole lot at the same time.
