HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1926-7
36. Major M'KENZIE WOOD

asked the Secretary of State for War why there was no composite battalion from the Scottish Command, as from other Army Commands, included in the procession on the occasion of the Peace celebrations in London on 19th July?

Captain GUEST

There was no intention that composite battalions should be drawn from each of the commands and the necessary Infantry, which was limited in number, was drawn from the four commands which were nearest to London and had the beat facilities for the movement of troops from the railway point of view. The massed pipes and a troop of the 2nd Dragoons were, however, drawn from the Scottish Command.
