HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1914-5
11. Lieut.-Commander KENWORTHY

asked whether it is intended to grant a special medal to the soldiers who have been on Home service during the War through no fault of their own, in view of the fact that many soldiers have carried out arduous and monotonous duties in this country in a satisfactory manner, and in many cases at a considerable sacrifice to themselves and their families?

Captain GUEST

As I have already-stated, this question is under consideration and I regret I am not yet able to make any announcement on the subject.

Lieut. - Commander KENWORTHY

Is it receiving sympathetic consideration?

Captain GUEST

Yes. The first consideration will be the settlement of the general award of the service medal. This suggestion and others come into the second category for consideration.
