HC Deb 29 July 1919 vol 118 cc1945-6
Mr. CLYNES

May I ask the Leader of the House whether it is intended to take the Colonial Office Vote this week?

Mr. BONAR LAW

As it was not possible to take it last week, we shall put it down to-morrow, in the hope, which I trust will be realised, that there may be time to take it after other business.

Mr. MARRIOTT

I would like to ask the Leader of the House whether he will give an undertaking that the Vote for the Bread Subsidy will not be taken until after the publication of the trading account of the Ministry of Food, in order that Members may have an opportunity of studying it?

Mr. BONAR LAW

I really require an opportunity of looking into that. I cannot answer the question offhand.

Lieut.-Colonel MURRAY

In regard to the business to-morrow, the right hon. Gentleman told us yesterday that if there were time he would take Bills which had gone through another place. Is the Forestry Bill one of those measures?

Mr. BONAR LAW

There is just the possibility that it may be. My Noble Friend (Lord E. Talbot) says there is a possibility.

Mr. T. P. O'CONNOR

May I ask the Attorney-General for Ireland when he hopes to be able to take the Second Reading of the Irish Labourers Bill?

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL for IRELAND (Mr. Denis Henry)

Early next week.

Mr. O'CONNOR

May I ask him to make an effort to take it this week?

Mr. HENRY

I will communicate with-the Noble Lord (Lord E. Talbot).

Ordered, That the Army Estimates, 1919–20 (further Vote on Account) [presented 25th July], be considered in Committee of Supply." —[Mr,-Bonar Law]
