HC Deb 24 July 1919 vol 118 c1546
Mr. HAYDAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the present shortage of railway wagons, he will consider the advisability of setting up a committee or commission to inquire into the conditions of the industry of making and repairing railway vehicles, the use thereof, the cost of production, and the charges for the same?

Sir H. GREENWOOD

My right hon. Friend doubts the advisability at the present moment of setting up a Committee such as that indicated in the hon. Gentleman's question, but his suggestion will be borne in mind.

Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

Can the hon. Gentleman say whether the work of repairing the wagons brought back from France has been begun?

Sir H. GREENWOOD

I must have notice of a question of that kind.
