Mr. CHARLES EDWARDSasked the Prime Minister whether he will consider the compulsory taking over of certain works, as was found necessary to be done to increase munitions during the War. for the production of colliery requisites such as rails, trams, trucks, machinery, etc., so as to provide facilities for miners to increase the production of coal; and,, if not, will he state what the Government intends to do to provide these and other necessary materials which is- the cause of the reduced output?
§ Sir H. GREENWOODThe supply of material used in collieries is much more 1553 liberal than it has been during the greater part of the period covered by the War, and is improving. The Government are giving urgent consideration to the further supply of all necessaries, including clearance.
