51. Sir J. D. REESasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the fact that our export trade is gravely threatened, owing chiefly to want of knowledge on the part of workers, and of the fact that the cinema theatre offers the only means of daily informing such workers upon the operation of elementary economic laws, the Government will take immediate steps to prevent the impending creation by a foreign agency of a trust, combine, or corner in cinema films and theatres?
§ Sir A. GEDDESI have been asked to reply. I have no information which suggests that any such attempt at a monopoly as the hon. Baronet suggests is being made; I shall, however, be grateful if he will let me have the information upon which his question is based.
§ Mr. NEWBOULDWill he consider the advisability of using cinema films for the purpose indicated in the question?
§ Sir A. GEDDESOh, yes.
