§ 78. Mr. ROYCEasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture what is the nature of the experimental transport services contemplated by the Board for application to agriculture in the 217 Holland-with-Boston Division; whether, in further considering this subject, the Board will consult representatives from the Holland County Council and the county agricultural executive committees; and whether, in view of the urgency for improved transportation, this consultation should take place at once?
§ Lieut.-Colonel GILMOURThe nature of any experimental transport service which may be established in this district is still under consideration, and the final decision will be a matter for the Ministry of Ways and Communications when that body is constituted. The Board of Agriculture and Fisheries, in considering the agricultural interests involved, will not adopt or concur in any policy without first consulting the county council and other local bodies concerned.
§ Mr. ROYCEWill they not enter into consultation with the county council and the other authorities interested in order to devise a scheme which will probably work better than by leaving the matter until the scheme is produced and then dissented from?
