HC Deb 14 July 1919 vol 118 c33
83. Colonel BURN

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider the revision of the printing contracts entered into by the Controller of His Majesty's Stationery Office for printing and supplying the lists of electors, etc., and the register of electors, with a view to avoiding the un necessary and wasteful expenditure of public funds, without any detrimental effect on the registers, and to enabling various other improvements to be made in the compiling and form of production of the register of electors?

Major ASTOR

The contracts referred to by the hon. and gallant Member are dealt with by the Stationery Office under the direction of the Treasury, and on this point I would refer him to the answer given by the Secretary to the Treasury to the Member for Caithness and Sutherland on 7th July. Certain schemes dealing with the form of the electors' lists and register are under examination, which if adopted would probably considerably reduce the cost of printing.
