HC Deb 27 February 1919 vol 112 c1928
11. Mr. PENNEFATHER

asked the Pensions Minister if he can give any indication when the scheme approved by the Government for the training of officers and men, including disabled men of good educational promise, is likely to be sufficiently organised to enable him to make a statement on the subject?

Mr. PARKER (Lord of the Treasury)

I have been asked to answer this question. The Government scheme for training officers and men of good educational promise will, it is expected, be m full operation by the 1st May. In the meantime, however, it will be possible, at an early date, to make immediate payment of Grants to candidates whose cases are of special urgency.
