§ 72. Sir A. FELLasked the Prime Minister if he is in a position to communicate the decision of the Government on the question of the Channel Tunnel and the deposit of the Bill which is necessary to enable it to come before Parliament next Session?
82. Mr. A. T. DAVIESasked the Lord Privy Seal whether the Government have given instructions that the Army and Navy opinions regarding the Channel Tunnel shall be communicated to the House without loss of time so as not to delay the scheme a moment longer than is necessary?
§ THE PRIME MINISTERI regret that I am not yet in a position to make a statement, as I have not yet received the observations of the Admiralty and war Office upon the subject. It is most unlikely that it will be possible to take the course suggested by the hon. Member for Lincoln.
§ Sir A. FELLWill it be possible for the Prime Minister to make this statement on Thursday, which, I believe, is the last day on which he will be present at Question-time?
§ THE PRIME MINISTERIf the Reports of the military and naval authorities have been received, it might be possible. I will see if that can be done.
