HC Deb 12 August 1919 vol 119 cc1076-7
16. Sir WILLIAM SEAGER

asked the Secretary of State for War when facilities will be granted to the bereaved to visit, the graves of their deceased relatives in France?

Captain GUEST

As I have already stated in answer to previous questions, the War Office is no longer placing any restrictions on the visits of relatives to the graves of deceased soldiers in France and Belgium except that they are requested not to go to the areas in which the work of concentration is actually taking place, but to defer their visits to such places till the work is completed. I have also previously explained that, having regard to the expense involved, it is not considered practicable to issue free travelling passes to relatives.
