HC Deb 05 August 1919 vol 119 cc146-7
5. Captain W. BENN

asked the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps the Government proposed to take for the representation of the interests of the non-Egyptian population on the abolition of the Capitulations?

His Majesty's Government do not propose to take any steps in this matter until they have received the recommendations of Lord Milner's Mission.

Captain BENN

In view of the changed status of Egypt will this House be consulted in this matter?

That question should be addressed, surely, to the Leader of the House.
