HC Deb 14 April 1919 vol 114 cc2498-9
73. Lieutenant-Colonel HILDER

asked the Minister of Labour what is the remuneration paid to the chairman and members of the Court of Referees in cases of disputed unemployment claims; and what are the qualifications for appointment of divisional inspectors?

Sir R. HORNE

The remuneration paid to chairmen of Courts of Referees is £3 3s. a sitting. Members of the Courts do not receive remuneration, but are entitled to travelling expenses, subsistence allowance, and, in certain cases, compensation for lost time on a scale approved by the Treasury, of which I am forwarding a copy to my hon. and gallant Friend. There is no grade of officer with the title of divisional inspector, but if further details are supplied I will endeavour to furnish the information desired.
