HC Deb 10 April 1919 vol 114 c2201
26. Mr. GILBERT

asked the First Commissioner of Works when it is proposed entirely to remove the hoarding from King Charles' statue at Charing Cross; if he will state why it has only partly been removed up till now; and what is the estimated cost of the whole work?

Sir A. MOND

The hoarding will be removed when the repairs to the fractured bronze casting have been completed, which will be in a month or five weeks. The hoarding and protection of sand bags were partly removed to allow of the repairs being undertaken. The cost of the whole work in estimated at £710, of which the cost of repairs to bronze and the removal of hoardings, etc., will be £300.
