HC Deb 03 April 1919 vol 114 c1361
30. Commander BELLAIRS

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether a special tax is still being levied on British shipping in the ports of the United States of America in retaliation for the light dues?

Mr. BRIDGEMAN

No, Sir. The discrimination to which my hon. Friend refers, and which did not apply only to British shipping, was abolished in 1909.
