Mr. ARCHDALEasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland whether his attention has been called to the Report of Mr. Justice Dodd, at the Belfast Prison Inquiry recently held; and, seeing that such Report entirely exonerates the Belfast prison officials from the charges brought against them; what steps he proposes to take in order to refute the falsehoods which are being spread as to the conduct of these officials?
§ The ATTORNEY GENERAL for IRELAND (Mr. A. W. Samuels)The Report of the learned judge on the Belfast Prison Inquiry has been received and submitted to His Majesty. I am glad to say that it exonerates the prison officials concerned. The Report was laid on the Table on the 17th March, and will be circulated at an early date.
