HC Deb 31 October 1918 vol 110 c1609
71. Mr. CECIL HARMSWORTH

asked the Minister of National Service if he is aware of the dissatisfaction existing among the traders of Luton at the recent grant of a licence to open In the town a new business that will compete with established businesses that are temporarily closed down because the proprietors are now serving with the Colours; and if he will take steps to prevent the granting of such licences in future?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY Of NATIONAL SERVICE (Mr. Beck)

Representations have been received on the subject referred to by my hon. Friend. The information before me is not quite complete, and I have called for a further report. I will communicate later with my hon. Friend.
