asked the Food Controller if he is aware that the price of Lymm pure salt has been increased from 27s. per ton to 38s. 6d. per ton; if he can give any reasons for the increase in the charge; and whether he intends to take any action in the matter?

Mr. PARKER

The Food Controller is aware that there has been a considerable increase in the price of salt. He has instructed the Costings Branch of the Ministry to ascertain the reasons for this increase and to report upon the advisability of fixing prices.
