HC Deb 12 November 1918 vol 110 c2506
96. Mr. STANTON

asked the Pensions Minister if he will make an appeal to all employers of labour in South Wales and elsewhere to employ as many of our wounded soldiers and sailors as possible at their collieries and works; and will he without delay advise that employers of labour should meet in the different areas to discuss and consider the most suitable form of employment for these men at current trade union rates?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

I am glad to be able to inform the hon. Member that my right hon. Friend is now preparing, in concert with the Minister of Labour, a general appeal to employers in all trades and industries to assist the Government in securing suitable employment for discharged disabled men. Local conferences of representatives of the various trades will certainly be suggested.
