§ 42. Colonel McCALMONTasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether under the existing Royal Warrant many Regular officers who have held lieutenant-colonel's and brigadier-general's commands in the field will have to retire on annual retired pay varying from £80 after fifteen years' service to £300 after twenty-eight years; and whether, in view of the altered conditions since 1914, the whole question of retired pay will be reconsidered?
§ Mr. FORSTERAs regards the officers who commanded a brigade, I would refer to my reply of the 21st October to the hon. and gallant Member for Christchurch promising consideration. I do not think that retirement on £80 after fifteen years' service is likely to overtake any Regular officer who has held a lieutenant-colonel's command in the field.
