§ Major CHAPPLEasked the hon. Member for Sheffield (Central Division) what provision has been made for the immediate supply of necessities and comforts to Kut prisoners of war released by Turkey?
§ Sir G. CAVEThe prisoners of war in Turkey will not necessarily assemble at Constantinople, but will return by the quickest route that can be arranged. The arrangements for their return are in the hands of the British Admiral in the Eastern Mediterranean who has been put into communication with the British military commanders for this purpose, and has at his disposal the stores of food and clothing already provided for the prisoners.
§ Sir J. BUTCHERHave any active steps already been taken to get these prisoners to a place from which they can sail for England?
§ Sir G. CAVECertainly; I believe a number are already assembled at or near Smyrna.
