HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 c1907
43. Colonel COLLINS

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture what is the approximate cost of the machinery and stores purchased during the War to carry out the land policy of the Government; and does he propose eventually to sell such stores, etc., to the farming industry?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Sir Richard Winfrey)

The approximate cost of machinery and stores purchased up to 30th September, 1918, may be taken at £3,000,000. Sales to the amount of £500,000 had been effected up to the date mentioned, leaving a net cost as at that date of approximately £2,500,000. The answer to the latter part of the question is in the affirmative.
