HC Deb 05 November 1918 vol 110 c1906
36. Lord H. CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Pensions Minister whether, in view of the fact that special steps were taken to advise the discharged soldiers of their right to apply for an alternative pension, he will adopt similar means to advise the ex-officers and the widows of officers of their right to apply for an alternative pension?

Sir A. GRIFFITH-BOSCAWEN

As my Noble Friend is aware, a booklet is in course of preparation for the information of ex-officers and officers' widows, and in that booklet attention will be drawn to the alternative pension. Reference will also be made to it in the Memorandum which is sent to every widow when her flat-rate pension is awarded.
