HC Deb 14 May 1918 vol 106 cc188-9
21. Mr. ELLIS DAVIES

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether the Government are acquiring the New Zealand wool clip at a price equivalent to 100 per cent. advance on 1914; and, if so, will he say why the percentage of increase in the price is so much higher than for the wool clip of this country?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the WAR OFFICE (Mr. Forster)

No price has yet been fixed for the purchase of the New Zealand wool clip of 1917–18. The second part of the question, accordingly, does not arise.
