HC Deb 04 March 1918 vol 103 c1720
62. Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has expressed his intention to refer the whole question of Income Tax consolidation to a Departmental or Select Committee; whether, instead of this, the Consolidation Bill has been brought into the other House; and whether he intends to pass that Bill this Session or to refer it to such Committee?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The hon. Member is under a misapprehension. The Post-War Committee which has been promised is to consider the revision of the Income Tax, and the Consolidation Bill to which he refers has for one of its chief objects the facilitation of the task of revision.
