HC Deb 25 June 1918 vol 107 c874
61. Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Minister of National Service whether he will cause investigation to be made into the case of Robert Ernest Cundiff, of Levens-hulme, Manchester, the last remaining son in civil life of a widowed mother, who has received his calling-up papers for the 27th June; whether he is aware that four other sons have already served with the Colours, one being killed in France, two in the fighting line for the second time after being wounded, and the fourth invalided home from Salonika with malarial fever and now in hospital; and whether, in view of the circumstances, he proposes taking any action in this case?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of NATIONAL SERVICE (Mr. Beck)

I regret that it is not possible for me to add to the answer which I gave on 15th May to the hon. Member for West Leeds.
