HC Deb 25 June 1918 vol 107 cc874-5
62. Mr. ANDERSON

asked the Minister of National Service whether he will investigate the case of William Marney, Brown Street, Sheffield, who enlisted in November, 1914, and was discharged as medically unfit because of chronic inflammation of the eyes; whether he is aware that this man was re-examined under the Military Service (Review of Exceptions) Act last July and placed in category C2; that he has been again examined and now put in Grade 1 although almost entirely blind in one eye, having imperfect use of the other eye, and although he is forty-one years of age, married, and has four children; and what action he proposes to take?

Mr. BECK

I am having investigation made into this case, and will communicate the result to my hon. Friend.

Mr. ANDERSON

I beg to give notice that I will raise matters involved in these two questions on the Vote on Thursday.
