HC Deb 21 June 1918 vol 107 c647
4. Captain CARR-GOMM

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been drawn to the case of Mr. A. B. Lovekyn, of 395, Devon Buildings, Tooley Street, S.E., who appealed to the Spring Gardens Tribunal on the ground that he was the only surviving son of a widow who had recently lost two sons, one from wounds in action, and whose health was certified by a doctor to be most precarious; whether he is aware of the fact that the acting chairman of the tribunal rejected the appeal without having read the medical report on the man's mother which had been sent to the tribunal beforehand; and whether he will intervene in this case?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. S. Walsh)

My right hon. Friend is in communication with the Appeal Tribunal on the subject, and will inform the hon. and gallant Member of the result.
