HC Deb 04 June 1918 vol 106 c1401
41. Mr. T. WILSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that there are a number of soldiers engaged on duties in London who are billeted at home and who have to travel to town every day; that these men are allowed a maximum travelling allowance of 6d. per day; that Colonial soldiers engaged in record offices in London and billeted in the suburbs can obtain season tickets at reduced rates; and whether he will take into consideration the possibility of extending the same privilege to men in the Home Forces or, at all events, providing them with season tickets at the old rates?

Mr. WARDLE

I am not aware of the conditions under which the Colonial soldiers referred to are granted season tickets, but I am having inquiries made, and will communicate with the hon. Gentleman on the point raised in his question as soon as these are completed.
