HC Deb 04 June 1918 vol 106 cc1405-6
46. Captain CARR-GOMM

asked the Prime Minister how long the deanery of Durham, the canonry of Worcester, and the incumbency of St. Mary Woolnoth have been vacant; when new appointments are to be made; and to whom the revenues are being paid in the meantime?

Mr. BONAR LAW

The deanery of Durham has been vacant five and the canonry of Worcester four months. They are both under offer, and I therefore can make no further statement. As regards the incumbency of St. Mary Woolnoth, complicated negotiations have been proceeding for some time with a view to a reduction of the stipend, but I am informed that it is expected that an appointment will shortly be made. The accumulated revenues will be paid to the person appointed in each case.
